CLC World resorts help fight against cancer

On Friday 15th November, Fundación CLC World handed over a cheque for €15,000 to the Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer (AECC), following October’s month of fundraising at their Costa del Sol resorts.

From delicious food events to car washes, a fun-filled finale of bushtucker trials, spooky Halloween party and much more in between, the Costa del Sol team pulled out all the stops once again.

Juan Miguel Marcos, Fundación President said: “When I see all the work, the effort and the enthusiasm amongst the staff when they are organising the activities throughout October I can only feel proud to be part of this great family. All of you have made it possible to achieve amazing results, once again.”

Pedro Gonzalez, Director of AECC said: “Thank you for all your great support – you are all a major part of the success of the AECC.”

This year, part of the collection will be used to launch a physiotherapy service to cure lymphedema, a side-effect of breast cancer. It will also serve to support pre-doctoral scholarships and encourage young university graduates in research.”

The mayor of Mijas, Josele González, has highlighted the great efforts of the CLC World team that, year-after-year, is committed to raising funds for such worthwhile causes as the AECC and said: “Today we can say that the spirit of collaboration and commitment throughout the province is as strong as ever.”

On Tenerife, the month-long campaign raised €8,000 for the Canarian Walk for Life charity in Adeje.

Sunningdale Village, Paradise and Monterey were involved, with the ‘pink tide’ taking over the CLC World resorts on October 23rd with a varied programme of events and activities. From selling cookies, holding raffles, hosting inflatable kids’ castles and bingo, they got team members and guests involved in the action. The Sales department also shared a percentage of their commissions for that day.

Richard Wafer, Fundación CLC World vice-president said: “We thank the companies that donated prizes for the raffle and all the team for making it such a successful campaign. Together we can achieve great results.”

Roy Peires thanked the staff for their immense efforts and dedication to raising funds over the past month.
