Club La Costa Members Blog

Are you an absolute beginner or were you born in the saddle? Either way, horse riding is a great way to explore the natural landscapes when on holiday.

Two of our resorts – CLC Duchally Country Estate in Scotland and CLC Club La Costa World on the Costa del Sol – have fantastic countryside on their doorstep just waiting to be explored, and what better way than on horseback?

Horseback riding Andalucia

Finca La Alegria is a well-established riding school based in La Cala de Mijas, less than a ten-minute drive from Club La Costa World.

With experienced instructors and horses suitable for all ages and abilities, Finca La Alegria offers everything from a peaceful hack with picnic, surrounded by magnificent scenery, to lessons and advanced rides for those that enjoy something more demanding.

Finca La Alegria also has a bar and restaurant onsite, so you can enjoy a refreshing drink or tasty nibble upon your return.

Perthshire Awaits

Explore 900 acres of rolling Perthshire countryside at Crieff Hydro, horse riding. Scotland is fabulous hacking country, and with Crieff Hydro Riding Centre you’ll get to see the gorgeous views of the Strathearn Valley with wildlife – red squirrels, buzzards and red deer – popping up along the way. Your guides will also point out some of the local landmarks as you go.

As with Finca La Alegria, Crieff Hydro Riding Centre has qualified instructors and horses for all riding abilities. The hacks are suited to a variety of ages and grouped by ability, so everyone has the best possible time.

So, saddle up and head for the hills, valleys and plains of Andalucia and Scotland for some great horse riding and a different view of the countryside. You’d be (pony) nuts, not to!
