Budapest, Hungary

Probably the cheapest capital city in Europe to eat, drink, sleep and be merry, Budapest is must-visit destination for lovers of all things good. Blessed with some of the finest architecture and cultural heritage in the world, including St. Stephen’s Basilica, Szechenyi Chain Bridge and UNESCO World Heritage Site Castle Hill, which boasts some of the city’s most iconic buildings and breath-taking views.

Take a boat trip down the Danube, stop off for lunch and enjoy a traditional 3-course menu of hearty goulash soup, meat or veg dishes and dessert for around €8 or chill out in the famous Szechenyi Baths, open all-year-round with 18 pools of natural hot spring waters, saunas and steam cabins.

Whether you want to relax and recharge your batteries, trip the light fantastic in the lively bars and clubs of the 7th district or marvel at the monuments, Budapest is perfect if you are looking for winter holidays in Europe.

Costa del Sol, Spain

From the glitz and glamour of Marbella and Puerto Banus to the fabulous fish restaurants and golden beaches of Mijas-Costa, the Costa del Sol offers a vast choice of attractions, all year-round.

Tee off at over 70 golf courses, soak up the sun at amazing beach clubs or dance ‘til dawn in some of the vibrant nightclubs in Fuengirola, Benalmadena Marina or Torremolinos.

Fish and seafood lovers should sample the paella and fried Malaga fish dishes at one of the many chiringuitos or beach bars dotted along the coast.

If you want to add some adventure to your Costa del Sol trip, why not hike over rock-face boardwalks 100 metres above the El Chorro gorge on the Caminito del Rey? It’s an adrenalin-fuelled attraction for outdoor enthusiasts with a head for heights.

Plymouth, England

Situated less than a one-hour drive from CLC Trenython Manor in Fowey, the waterfront city of Plymouth is fast-becoming a ‘must-visit’ destination in Devon.

The arrival of restaurants from high profile chefs, such as Marco Pierre White and self-confessed seafood ambassador, Mitch Tonks, has put Plymouth firmly on the foodie-map of great places to eat in the south-west of England.

Explore the picturesque Elizabethan gardens in the old port and the waterfront cafés that spill out across the cobbles.

2020 marks a landmark year for Plymouth – the 400th anniversary of when the square-rigged Mayflower set sail from the city on its maiden voyage the discover the New World (the USA). Amazingly, over 30 million citizens, including US presidents can trace their roots back to one of the 102 passengers and 30 crew who made the epic journey.

Cape Canaveral, Florida, USA

Florence, Italy

One of the most beautiful, quirky and colourful cities in Europe, Florence has a distinct charm of its own, that dates to its industrial past.

Known as the birthplace of the Renaissance, and historically the centre of the European wool trade, Florence was home to wealthy merchants who held the political power of the city in their hands.

Today, Florence attracts art-lovers and culture vultures from all over the world who come to marvel at the Duomo (cathedral), the magnificent Uffizi Gallery and the magical Bardini Gardens.
